Bandai HGUC 1/144 RX-78-2 Gundam V1.
After watching all 3 Gundam 0079 movies i really was looking forward to assembling the star of the show, the RX-78-2 Gundam. This is the first HGUV (High Grade Universal Centruy) RX-78-2 i think, got this because it was easy for me to get but definalty getting the new 30th aniversary version too, detail on that look sweet.
Took me maybe 3 hours to put him together, first time ive used a gundam marker, like how they bring the plain plastic alive and add depth to the gunpla. Read that i should marker up the sprue before i assemble, stops the ink running into any fitting seams and showing them up.
Cool 2 handed beam saber pose, can get some real nice pose's from this but not really able to hold the beam rifle with both.
Really like the simple design of the original suit, been looking at lots of other gunpla and some look really great like the GM, Ric Dom and most of the Zoen suits and suits from MS 08th Team are looking to be my favorite. But at the moment not really a fan of the mobile suit from Gundam Seed, something about them that i not really into, too fantasie looking maybe.
Copying the pose of the full size RX-78-2, wish i could go see that. Like the simple child like colouring, very bright and happy design for a giant killing machine.
Really like the shield design, good to see the GM's using it. Only realised that the star on the shield is the federation emblem when i was building it, think i might have done a bit over board with the gundam marker on the rear of the shield.
All the parts went together great, did'nt even have to use glue.
Beam Saber's that fit into the back back are cool.
Great little part is how the shield fits onto the arm and the backpack.
My favorite photo, looking towards the star.
