Revell 1/144 - E-2C Hawkeye - WiP 3 - Painted and ready to decal

Revell 1/144 - E-2C Hawkeye - WiP 3 - Painted and ready to decal

For a kit which ive spent very little time on and which im now wish i added more detail, i think is looking really nice.

My little experiment with the gundam markers didn't really work ut i think it would have if i thinned down the paint more, instead i added some weather with the Tamiya Weathering to give it the used look.

Will have this finished by the weekend if i can find the front landing gear panels, i stored them away safe months ago and can't find them yet.

Very nice work there, I'm making one myself. Well I was, I was having lots of trouble with getting the right kind of gray. No mattered what I used, it just didn't look right to me. I think I striped all the paint off twice in the end. But somehow the struts for the rotordome have melted so my version has been scrapped for the time being. Can I ask what paint you used for it?

I love your F-5 and F-20's, have you ever thought of looking at the X-29? Same body as the F-20 but with forward swept wings like the Sukhoi S-37 Berkut.

Yo dazz.
Cheers for the comment, for the paint i been using Vallejo air light grey, which i use alot of somethimes lighten with white to get the correct colour.

I reckon a model X-29 might be in the works from dragon, looks liek quite a project to me but next year i do plan on a massive NASA project so maybe.

Your welcome for the comment, your models are quality!! :) I think my models are nothing special but I am working on them and trying my best with them, starting to love the 1/144 scale. Thanks for the paint tip, I've kinda shot myself in the foot because I have so many gray planes to do and can't get the right gray. I'll have a lookie at the Vallejo paint. :D

I've seen two 1/144 X-29's on HLJ but they appear to be completed ones also from Dragon. Might look into one of them if I can clear my "stash". :P A NASA project sounds cool, the main one would either have to be the Saturn V rocket, Space Shuttle booster or the Space Shuttle Taxi (747-100) imo.
