Revell 1/144 - E-2C Hawkeye - Completed -

Revell 1/144 - E-2C Hawkeye - Completed - 1

One of Revell's best 1/144 scale models, the E-2C Hawkeye built straight out of the box using decals supplied and no detailing added at all. Which i will be doing next time i build this with folded wings.

A wonderful little kit and a must for any 1/144 modeller, took 6 months to complete but amazingly painted, decaled and generally finished in a week, which surprised me. Used this as a little experimental model too, mostly trying different weathering technique.

Still got quite a few WiPs to finish which have been on the shelf for far too long.

Revell 1/144 - E-2C Hawkeye - WiP 3 - Painted and ready to decal

Revell 1/144 - E-2C Hawkeye - WiP 3 - Painted and ready to decal

For a kit which ive spent very little time on and which im now wish i added more detail, i think is looking really nice.

My little experiment with the gundam markers didn't really work ut i think it would have if i thinned down the paint more, instead i added some weather with the Tamiya Weathering to give it the used look.

Will have this finished by the weekend if i can find the front landing gear panels, i stored them away safe months ago and can't find them yet.

Revell 1/144 - E-2C Hawkeye - WiP 2 - Painting

Revell 1/144 - E-2C Hawkeye - WiP 2 -

Been over 8 months since i started this very nice little model and thought it was about time to get some paint on her.

Ive already painted all the white and have just finished masking it all off and came up with the idea off using a gundam marker to add under shading since my airbrush really isn't good enough to add such detail.

Wait to see how that turns out.

Revell 1/144 - E-2C Hawkeye - WiP 1 -

Revell 1/144 - E-2C Hawkeye - WiP 1 - by AntSizedMan

A 1/144 modellers favorite from Revell.

Bought this excellent little kit from Revell just after Christmas and recently built it easily. One of those model kit where everything fits correctly and caused me no problem, which is a rarity and a pleasure.
And to keep it easy, i kept this a straight build, no adjusting the flaps, having the wings folded or new 8 prop propellers, keeping the 4 prop for a 80's version or maybe 70,s, to go next to some F-14s. Have got a bunch of aftermarket bits to convert the model but decided against it.

Might be some time before i paint this, thinking about getting a new airbrush first.

[Kit Review] - Revell 1/144 - E-2C Hawkeye -

Kit Review - Revell 1/144 E-2C Hawkeye

An awesome kit from Revell of Germany which i reckon all 1/144 modellers know of. Cool decals on the radar that come with the kit but won't be using them.

Excellent detail as expected from Revell of Germany, same sort of quality like the F-104, F-14 etc. Noticed that there no detail inside the propeller engines for the landing gear to attach to and the small round window on the fuselage will have to be drilled out but apart from that perfect.

Kit Review - Revell 1/144 E-2C Hawkeye - Sprues

Upgrades for the kit i know of are ....
Wolfpack Design - Folded wing resin conversion.
RetroKit -- Folded wing resin conversion and 8 blade Hamilton Propeller upgrade.
FOXONE - Has very nice sets with decals, 8 blades propeller and radome parts upgrades.

Already started on the cockpit.
