Can.Do 1/144 Tiger 1 and Pather G

Can.Do 1/144 Tiger 1 and Panther G

2 little German tanks i picked up which i hope to make some little dioramas with, though when i do that will no doubt be a long time coming.

Both have excellant packageing and are incredablie deatiled, should have taken a photo nezt to a coin or rular because there a super small, like 1 inch in length small.

Will proablie repaint both of them, i know that the panther will have to be because the turret does'nt match the rest of the tank. little bit of work to imorove them like removing seems.

1/144 Anime Mecha scale

1/144 Anime mecha scale

Little scale guide of the 1/144 anime mecha ive got so far. The scale difference looks about right between the different mecha. The figure looks like it the correct size compared to the VF-1S Strike Valkyrie (one of the first upgraded chara-works valks to be almost completed)
The gundam towering over all makes the Votoms look super small, believe its one of the smallest anime mecha, biggest being Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann i guess.

Osprey Hurricane Aces of World War 2

Osprey Hurricane Aces of WW2

To give it its full name: Osprey, Aircraft of the Aces: Men and Legends. Hurricanes to the Fore, The First Aces.
Got nearly every Hurricane which i can make with the Sweet decals, same style as the Wildcat aces book. Lots of black and white photos and lots of colour side profiles of various Hurricanes.

Should start putting a few Hurricanes together soon but need to find the correct paints for the camouflage so that it looks correct at such a small scale.

[Kit Review] - Sweet 1/144 - Mitsubishi A6M3 Model22 Zero Fighter -

Sweet 1/144 Mitsubishi A6M3 Model22 Zero Fighter 1
New Sweet kit of the week and it one of Sweets favorite subjects a Zero, which would make sense since there a Japanese company.

DSC01213

5 different desplay option with the decals, going to have one the creme colour and the other green.

Kit Review - Sweet 1/144 - Mitsubishi A6M3 Model22 Zero Fighter - 2
Excellant intructions are usually from Sweet, got to find out what the little bits of advice are in Japanese.

Kit Review - Sweet 1/144 - Mitsubishi A6M3 Model22 Zero Fighter - 4
Like how the plastic is the clour i want the Zero painted in, like a undercoat.

Doyusha 1/144 Macross Plus YF-21

DSC01179

This is a die-cast YF-21 from Macross Plus which i nice but not as detailed as i would have liked it to be. And because its die-cast the paint work looks really strange kinda, no character to it.

DSC01156

Comes in a really nice box and well protected.

DSC01166

Seems to be a fairly accurate version of the VF-21 but it the paint work which really brings this down for me. The paint is factory perfect but it just looks so lifeless.

DSC01194 Doyusha 1/144 Macross Plus YF-21 1

Wonder what i can do to improve this, will have to be repainted and the landing gear is really lacking detail so that will have to go.

Most expensive 1/144 fighter so far bought but i knew because its die-cast that it would not be as good as a model kit but i really do like the design.

[Kit Review] - TakaraTomy 1/144 - Armored Trooper Votoms -

DSC01085

Know very little about the Votoms as ive never seen any of the anime but i do like the design of these little mecha. What i do know is that it was another one of the attempt at realistic robot style anime, with mecha that are simply war machine instead of one mecha which has special powers or can transforms into something else.

DSC01093

Comes nicely packed with all the separate parts having there own little compartment which are held in with a lid, instructions how to assemble the votom and some information about it which is in Japanese. Comes with 2 votoms per pack, bought 4 packs so i could have a variety of parts to choose from.

DSC01116

These little mecha are small like 2 to 3 cm small and wicked detail at such a small size.
Don't know what each of the votoms are meant to be but really digging the black one

Tamiya masking tape and putty.

Tamiya Putty and Masking tape

These are some new awesome products ive been using lately, yes tape is awesome.

The tape makes painting free hand so much easier but don't ever put it on top of a decal, did i ever regret doing that. Looking at the model next day and wondering were all the little warning signs have gone, yeah in the bin stuck to the masking tape.

Putty is so much better than the Humbrol one ive been using, it has a finer consistency and sands better which means the Humbrol one went in the bin. This is the basic type putty but thinking that maybe for 1/144 scale the finer one would be easier to use.

Revell 1/144 Curtiss P-40E Warhawk

DSC00818

3rd build! This kit is from 1967 and actually manufactured in the UK, don't do that anymore.

Which means it quality is really bad, like terrible. Bad fit, massive seam gaps, a canopy that doesn't fit, ruined decals and raised panel lines instead of the now normal cut into the plastic.

Revell 1/144 Curtiss P-40E Warhawk 2

But i think i did it justice, picked this up from a second-hand toy shop. Always loved the design of the P-40, known as a Kittyhawk in Britain and have yet to see any other kits available for this fighter.

Had to use different decals than the ones which came with the kit, being over 40 years old they were kinda ruined and that meant no nice big teeth.

Revell 1/144 Curtiss P-40E Warhawk 3

Favorite part of the kit is the underneath, turned out quite good, using promodellers wash really makes these little kits come to life.

Hope i can make a better kit in the future, really like the design and would really like a better tooled kit to build with nice big snarling teeth.

Think i should give this some more dull-cote, looks a little to shiny.

[Kit Review] - Sweet 1/144 - Hurricane Mk1 "Battle of Britian Aces" -

Sweet 1/144 Hurricane Mk1 B.o.B. Aces 1

Another Sweet kit of the week, Hurricane Mk.1 Battle of Britain Aces not sure what the green version means yet.
Different style of box art with this kit, the classic painting of the aircraft which comes with most kits, really well done as well.

Sweet 1/144 Hurricane Mk1 B.o.B. Aces 2

Usual easy to follow instructions even though i read very little Japanese it easy enough to figure out what to do. Going to get the Osprey book as recommended.

Sweet 1/144 Hurricane Mk1 B.o.B. Aces 4

Excellent detailed plastic, something different here. The clear plastic has all the lights and canopy for both aircraft, saves on producing a clear only sprue i guess.

Enough decals for 5 Aces but have yet to choose which ones i want to have, definitely going for the version on on the box art and i'll pick another when i receive the Osprey Hurricane book.
The tiny decal sheet is a correct of the decals already on the big one, looks like pop-eye.

Sweet 1/144 Hurricane Mk1 B.o.B. Aces 3

Painting and decal guide also has what ariel to put on each aircraft. The side profile and birds eye view and 1/1 with the built kit, that's cool and will help.

Should get on to this sometime this week.

New decals for tthe Dragon 1/144 F-14

New 1/144 decals for F-14

Picked these up from ebay, look to be in excellent condition. Looks like the came from a revell kit and the detail on them s really good, check out the instrument panels.

Need to pick up some decal softener, from what ive read looks like it makes the decals fit perfectly onto the model.
