Star Wars 1/144 - Y-wing with R5 unit -
Finished F-toys 1/144 Y-wing with a new R5 unit replacing the original which came with a R2.
Frist removed some flash, applied a Pro-modellers wash, painted the pipes in a rusty colour and finaly weathered up with a tamiya weathering master.
If only these f-toys star wars vehicle had clear cockpit, be great to get to have a orange jumpsuit pilot visable.
I like side profiles.
R5 unit i sculpted, the top of the head red detail is a decal which came with the y-wing.
Reminds me of the last scene of ESB.
Can't figure out which pilot this Y-wing belong to from Gold Squadron

bro your photography and model making is getting better.
Pretty sweet looking. I always liked the worn, old workhorse look of the Y-Wing.
This battle space ship looks wonderful... it’s a great job, the weathered finish is welldone (i dunno if someday i’ll do that finish to any of my model kits...) thx for become one of my fans, i’m one of ur followers as well =D
Could you give a general run down of how you sculpted the R5 unit? I am looking to do the same. Thanks!
