Revell 1/144 - Tornado F.3 ADV "No. 111 Squadron" - Completed

Recently completed Tornado F.3 ADV from Revell of Germany, a repackaged and re-decaled kit by DML Dragon. Has great detail but lacking on the fit, quite alot of putty used on the model. Very happy with the way it turned out.

Vallejo Pale Blue Grey overall with a Cidetal Codex Grey on the nose and Vallejo Black on the tail.

Scratched up new cockpit to replace the generic dragon one.

 

Cool tail and lightning bolt, colours came out real nice.



No. 111 Squadron, last flight to have Tornado F.3s soon to be replaced by Typhoons



Like the red marking on the tank, up front are recessed AGM-88 HARM with AIM-9 Sidewinder on the wings.



Black and yellow tail looking good. Jet engine turned out fine as well , enjoy painting those metallic colours.



Going to intercept some Bears!

Painted and decals added, really like the one on the tail.
Alls thats needed is a promodellers wash and weapons added.

Nose looks a little weird?

Gundress

Character and mecha designs by manga god Masamune Shirow and an cool sounding title, Gundress. Thought i was about to watch one awesome anime, turned out to possibly be one of the worst anime ive ever watched and my tallys around the 200 mark.

The animation and story where just bad, after i watched this movie i had to do a little research to find out what happened and discovered it was released in 1999, looked more like 79. Twenty years ahead of Mobile Suit Gundam and it totally owned it.

Found this interesting article which show how cool the character and mecha suit or Landmates looked designed by Masumune and how it turned out so bad is very sad.

I always liked a bad anime, most have something charming about them but this was quite the disappointment, about 10 minutes in i was the it would end soon.

"No matter how bad you think something is, there is someone, somewhere who favorite it is"

I'll leave it at that.

F-toys 1/144 - RAF Spitfire Vb - Wip 1 - Rebuilt and ready for Paint

Easy cockpit to make, came with nice little seat but everything else around needed to be built.

New attenna added, broke the one on the model while pulling it apart.

Taken apart, all the chunky connector cut off and glued back together, putty for the seams and then all sanded taken any any of the identifcation markings.



Next is primed and paint.

F-toys 1/144 Wing Kit Collection 4 - USAAF Spitfire Vb

Got to have a few spitfires in the collection, im British, i love it.

Bought the overpriced confectionery of the bay, looking like a fine little kit though.

Going to re-model this USAAF spitfire into a RAF one with the decals from one of my first purchases a Minicraft  spitfire, which i didn't even attempt because of how old that one was.

The Five Star Stroies - The Movie

  A small OVA based on the epic manga Five Star Stories which after watching this i intend to read. At only an hour long it left me wanting more, really very interesting, reminds me of Dune with it politics, names and detailed history. 

Some real unique mecha in this which ive seen kits in 1/144 available, once i find my favorite Mortar Headds i might have a look at building one. Betting the cool gold one costs alot and then ive heard painting gold is a pain.

Really think this would be great as a series, complex as it is, i would really like to see more.

Revell 1/144 - Tornado F.3 ADV "No. 111 Squadron" - Wip 2

All assembled ready for some paint. Lots of nice detail but quite a bad fitting kit, used more putty on this kit fixing the seams then anything ive done before.

Canopy was way off, hope it will look OK when finished.

Out with the airbrush tomorrow.

LS 1/144 - Northrop F-20 Tigershark - Finished -

Nice easy kit all done and dusted. Quality little kit for one made in the 80's of a prototype that only had 4 jets built. Be great in all kits had there canopy sprued up the same way this one is with the sprue being attached to the fitting surface stead of on the side that sometimes or most times leave a little blemish.

Few things that i can improve on, masking tape edges on the cockpit seem a but scruffy and over airbrushing the model and making the under shading disappeared, going to have to try really thinning down the paint next time.

Revell 1/144 - Tornado F.3 ADV "No. 111 Squadron" - Wip 1

Bought this kit over a year ago and was meant to begin building straight away but for some reason i didn't bother building it and it went into my ever growing stash.

Tornado F.3 ADV is currently being replaced by the Typhoon with No. 111 Squadron being the only flight still using it to intercept the Russian who sometime send there Bears over to our airspace, scary stuff to think this is still going on.

Kit must be a DML Dragon kit, got those real simple cockpits which come with some of there kit, didn't use it. Made a new one with a load of spare in my but box

Looking like its going to need alot of putty, lots of gaps from this quick fit.

LS 1/144 - Northrop F-20 Tigershark - Wip 2 - decaled

Lost Internet connection for a couple of days so this was done Saturday, no net it kinda crazy not having the luxury of looking everything up i want instantly.

Nearly complete, decaled after a gloss coat yesterday. Painted in 2 tone grey, darker on top, light underneath on Friday. One very easy model to build.

Black ★ Rock Shooter

One very stylish anime, which ive been looking forward since i first heard about.

Decided i would avoid any article and trailers  i could so that i knew nothing about this anime until i watched it, which worked cause i had no clue what i was going to watch.

Such a amazing looking anime, not going to go too much into whats it about so i dont' spoil it for others.

Great animation, cool fights, nice story, going to get a second viewing.

Black Rock Shooter looks to me like some evil Hatsune Miku doppelganger, which i guess is what a doppelganger is.

LS 1/144 - Northrop F-20 Tigershark - Wip 1 -

Been a couple of weeks since i did any modelling, spent a 2 evening with around a hour each night to get the tigershark to this stage. Really easy build, had no cockpit so i scratched a very simple one.

Should be all pianted tonight.

Camp Bestival 2010

A cracking festival at Lulworth Castle by the sea. Juat spent a long weekend at the excellent fest, lots of eating quality food, great activies, awesome music and much dancing (so much i fact i now ache)

All the circus area, never been to a circus before, was unbalivable what the guys and gals can do, no animals of course.
