Variable Fighter Master File - VF-25 MESSIAH -

Another awesome new Valkyrie master file magazine/book = Mook added to the collection, this one is a real beauty filled up with plenty of gorgeous photo realistic pics of the VF-25.

Both pages for the sweet low-viz Messiah, nice addition of the shark teeth.

Macross Frontier!



Cannon Fodder or Mass Produced brown Messiah, think it must be the first Valkyrie since the VF-1 to have that livery and it looks good.



All the various monitors or heads, you can see the antenna following the same pattern as the VF-1, 1 for A, 4 for F, no J?



Gorgeous!



VF-171 gets it own little section, the AWAC is damn cool.



YF-25 prototype, thought it was great the bandai released it as a plamo first.



Like a classic paint scheme inspired by the VF-1's from Do you remember love?



Few pages for Macross Galaxy's VF-27 Lucifer, looks like it was mass-produced for NUN SPACY.



Last few pages of the Master File always has the Squadron Markings, this is my favourite pages from these because of Macross 7 Emerald Force's blue messiah and even the low-viz SMS Skull Leader.



Inspired staff pages, using the warning marking from the VF-25 for each contributor.

F-toys 1/144 - Macross VF-1J Valkyrie - "Dark Bird" -

1/144 scale Macross VF-1J Valkyrie "Dark Bird" a low-viz space fighter which only had 5 seconds airtime in episode 5 of SDF Macross, when i started this Valkyrie it was called the "Dark Bird" but now yamato have released a 1/60 perfect transformation version the squadron has been given the rather nifty name "The Cavaliers"

Another of the F-toys 1/144 Macross Valkyries that really should have been finished quite some time ago but have never got round to finishing but alas done.

As far as i could tell the "Dark Bird is all royal blue with the front, back and circle on the leg a lighter greyer blue with the red stripe on on wing and a yellow panel at the top of the tail.



Thin k the VF-1 looks best when the wings are in this position in fighter mode, of course the best way a valk look is gerwalk.



Painted the gunpod same colour as the front/back of the legs.



Take off!



Did have a Alaska base VF-1A in the works but ruined the white doing the panel wash with a gloss coat, oops.

Macross 1/144 - VF-1S Strike Valkyrie - "Goldstars" -

My latest remodelled F-toy 1/144 VF-1 Valkyrie based on Royal Air Force No. 31 Squadron "Goldstar".

Used the same sort of pale grey with a touch of blue as the squadrons Tornados, this is the commander S type head with the strike super parts this guy is the squadron leader.

F-toys 1/144 - VF-1J Valkyrie - Maximilian + Milia Jenius

1/144 VF-1J painted in Maximilian Jenius blue and Milia Jenius red, both piloting genius. Really look like a great pair when next to each other and like how each had has its partners colour on the leg band.

Finished these two way before i had the airbrush and brush painted when i started model making again. Really very happy with how they look with painted marking, panel lines applied with a pencil.









Been some time since Macross got a look in from me, been on quite the gundam fix this last year.

Macross 1/144 - VF-1S Valkyrie - "Dark Bird + Alaska Base" -WiP

Here's 2 Valkyries which i started again over a year ago but have only recently started to model again. These 2 are what you you call 5 seconds Valkyries due to there screen time, which was probably even less than that.



"Dark Bird" is maybe a VF-1A/S from episode 5 of SDFM, must be some sort of low-viz space Valkyrie in midnight blue.



"Alaska Base" are the white and green Valkyries which guard UN SPACY headquarter and the Grand Cannon in Alaska from episode 15.

Macross 1/144 - VF-1S Valkyrie - VFA-143 "Pukin Dogs"

Been quite some time since ive finished one of the f-toys 1/144 scale VF-1 Valkyrie's. This one had been painted grey and gloss for over a year waiting for some to be done to it and while shifting through the spare decals ive amassed found the VFA-143 "Pukin Dogs" decals and though they would be perfect on the Valkyrie.

Copied the scheme that the F-14 use to have and the large pukin dogs griffin surprisingly fitted perfectly onto the tail wing.

Macross 1/144 - VF-1S Valkyrie - VFA-143 "Pukin Dogs" - WiP

Going through my blog i noticed a massive amount of gunpla lately compared to say a year ago when i only modelled aircraft.

Time to start modelling some VF-1 Valkyries, this is one of a batch of VF-1's which have been needing some attention for months, painted grey so long ago and can't remember using left over paint in the airbrush from something else.

Found some decals to use US Navy, VFA-143 "Pukin dogs" which have a cool dark blue on the tail tips and around the cockpit which i thought would be perfect on the VF-1. Used a VF-1S head because i think when a US. Navy jet has coloured marking instead of usual low-viz it means that its the leader and S head is always a leader.

Once glossed will be a nice easy model to decal which i reckon took about a year to complete.

Variable Fighter Master File - VF-19 EXCALIBUR -

Awesome new mook to add to the Variable Fighter Master File collection this being the the second in the series VF-19 Excalibur. Usually call this VF-19 or YF-19 but Excalibur is a cool name for the fighter which i never really remember. Just like the last in the series the VF-1 Valkyrie this has lots of cool almost photo realistic pics and what must be vast amounts of great information in Japanese with some very nice illustration explain how the VF-19 works.
Was quite pricey for me to get but think it really wanted to get this and all other that will be released, next is the VF-1 again but with Super Part which was a surprise was expecting the VF-25.

Double page spread for the content, not sure if it the YF-19 but damn it looks great!



First few pages are "photos" of the Excalibur. Cool Gerwalk and low viz on the right,



 Guess this is the generic design page using the Macross Plus YF-19 patterns.
 


Top left corner is the "VF-19A SVF-569 Lightnings" which Hasegawa released as very nice looking 1/48 kit.

Uraga Class Escort Battle Carrier, 2 great shot, one with a VF-19 just taken off and the other in Earth orbit surrounded by Northampton Class Stealth Frigates.



Just like the VF-1 Book which had F-14 before and VF-4 after, the VF-19 file has the VF-11 before and the VF-17 after. Be great to get entire books on the VF-4, 11 and 17.



Five double pages of these designs, lots of modeling opportunities. At the bottom left there is the "Roy Focker Special"


Only page with VF-19s from Macross 7 was expecting an entire section on Emerald Force and Sound Force, wanted a double spread pic of Basara's VF-19 Karaoke Ninja or Fire Valkyrie.



Credit page for the CG artists has some nice pics including a very nice white VF-17.



Great mook, would like to model some of these but there is so much choice!
