Japan Trip 2011 - Day 3 - Bullet Train and Kyoto

Japan Trip 2011 - Day 3 - Bullet Train and Kyoto

Day 3 i utilized my JR Pass and poped on the awesome Shinkanzen / bullet train and visited Kyoto for a couple of days.

First day after arriving at the massive Kyoto Station which is like a miniature city inside, seeing Kyoto Tower and putting my stuff in the coin lockers i visited Arashiyama Disitrict.
Straight from the super clean station i walked to Togetsukyō bridge over the Katsura River, then walked through Bamboo woods, visited lots of shrines and temple and then like nearly everyday i was in Japan got lost, which is actually quite enjoyable, getting off the tourist trail and seeing suburban Kyoto.

How i would describe the place, both the old, new and nature just seem to merge perfectly.

The streets are really clean and the surrounding reflects a culture.
